Equipment

Should you bring your own bike or not? I do not know. If you want to rent a bike only for few days and for fun than off course no, you do not need to bring your bike. There are many rent a bike business here (good & bad to) so you can rent anything from shit to some really good bikes. As you can imagine, once you need good bike there is only shit available and vice versa so if you have plans to rent a bike do little bit of search on Internet and rent it in advance. OK?

On other side if you plan some more serious riding than know that if you rent good bike, even so it is rented bike, and all those nice school boys became wild bastards on rented equipment as you will. So as long as you are not to far away from civilization and repair service you may trust your rented bike.

I personally, for any serious holiday that include serious biking, will bring bike with me (I will newer go on such holiday by the way as I like to fall down on beach sand...). If you speak in advance with your touroperator and flight provider they will take your bike or surf board or something big like this for free or for a small charge. But speak in ADVANCE with them. OK?

If you are with road bike, do not leave asphalt. Sharp rocks will cut your slicks in sphageti Also since you can't ride outside of some kind of road you basically do not need full suspension bike.

If you have one than adjust it hard as you will need a lot of grip in sharp uphills. Put the tires for hard rocky surface with deep cuts. There are no sand, Gras or soft surface here. No rain - no mud

Always wear all necessary protection please. If you fall you can have problems with your head. At least always wear hat as the sun is hot!!! Sunglasses are recommended. Put loads of sun protection on your skin.

Wear water, water... WATER. a lot, please.

And remember, soon as you leave city behind you, your nokia... phone is dead. So take all necessary tools for repairing bike. Bring extra chain, break cable, gears cable & tire repair set also! Specially if it is rented bike.
